Pre-K Students Testing

The PreKindergarten program at Lindop School services children ages 3-5 years old with placement priorities given to District 92 residents who fulfill registration requirements.

Lindop offers a half day and full day program for those who meet state mandated criteria. Class sizes are limited and a wait list will be formed once classes are full.

The half day program serves children ages 3 through 5 who are not age eligible for kindergarten (i.e., age 5 on or before September 1 of the school year in which the early childhood program is to be implemented) and who are determined by multiple weighted at-risk factors.

Pre-K Students Playing with Legos

The full day program serves children  who are not age eligible for kindergarten, with priority given to students who are 4 on or before September 1st. Full day students must meet state eligibility requirements for enrollment. Placement will be determined by the district based on a weighted needs assessment.

Program meeting times:

Morning Class: 8:30 a.m. - 11:15 a.m. (morning students are eligible to attend breakfast at 8:00 a.m. in the cafeteria)

Afternoon Class: 12:45 p.m.- 3:30 p.m.

Full Day Class: 8:30 a.m - 3:30 p.m. with the option to attend breakfast at 8:00am

Lindop works closely with families to ensure your child has a quality preschool experience. We foster children's love of learning, encourage socialization and individualize instruction to meet the needs of every child.

Screening

Screening Pre-K Students

All students must complete a short developmental screening before enrollment. Children can be screened started at age 2 ½ but are unable to enroll until they turn 3.  Children will be screened in the areas of speech, language, fine and gross motor development, cognitive skills and vision and hearing. The purpose of the screening is to:

  • Identify children that might need additional evaluation
  • Answer the concerns parents may have about their child's development
  • Evaluate if your child is eligible for Lindop's Prekindergarten Program

Appointments are necessary and can be made by contacting the program director        Diane Schoenheider at (708)232-3210 (cell) or (708)786-6439 (office) or via email at [email protected]
